A well-established California litigation firm with a long-standing reputation and deeply rooted client relationships is seeking a Litigation Associate with 2+ years of experience to join its growing team. Medical malpractice or healthcare-related litigation experience is preferred but not required.
This role offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated institutional clients in the healthcare and professional services sectors while gaining significant hands-on litigation experience. Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of litigation from inception through resolution.
- Develop case strategy and assist with defense planning.
- Draft and respond to written discovery.
- Prepare and argue motions.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
- Collaborate closely with partners and clients on complex litigation matters.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership.
- 2+ years of civil litigation experience.
- Medical malpractice, healthcare, or professional liability defense experience is a plus.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
